The Proposed Stone Quarry to be located at 8032 Old State Road 25 North is outlined in Red.
This is the approximate location to display the area of concern.

The location is between Old State Road 25 North and the Wabash River.

Wabash River flood stage starts at 11 ft water level.
The Campground has observed water rising over 8 ft in as little as 6 hours. This happens when the water is released from the up stream reservoirs.
(Salamonie,  Mississenewa  & Huntington) The water release times vary to lake water levels and expected rainfall. A 2 ft drop in ANY of the reservoirs will send a flash flood downstream up to the level of 18 to 19 ft water level at Americus. Notices of these releases are NOT publicized. We have noted that the releases are generally done at the same time from both Salamonie & Mississinewa reservoirs.

The releases generally flood low land areas up to the 19 ft level. which creates havoc for down stream recreational areas along the river.

The Ideal situation would be to lower the reservoirs slowly to create a stable "recreational" water level on the Wabash all the way to the Ohio River rather than send flash flood conditions generally days before a Holiday weekend.

Each white pin represents a house in the area. (I stopped counting at 266)
The Red outline is "approximately" the location of the proposed quarry.
The Red Line is the approximate location of the 532 ft above sea level elevation.
