Fire Wood WARNING!

The Emerald Ash Borer is an insect that was accidentally imported and has since been infesting ash trees.
Discovered in 2002, it has been
spreading rapidly, killing millions of dollars worth of ash trees.

In an effort to control the spread of the EAB, transporting normal firewood is heavily discouraged.
We reserve the right to inspect any firewood prior to entering our property. Any wood found to be infected with insects will not be allowed on our property. There are many reasons NOT to transport firewood. Please do your part to STOP the spread of the  Emerald Ash Bore, Dutch Elm Disease, Asian Longhorn Beetle, Sudden Oak Death and Cyrex that will kill the trees on our property and surrounding lands.
Many of the bugs are considered "hitch-hikers" and spread when firewood is transported out of an infected area.
We can not and will not allow firewood from quarantined areas onto our property.
We do not allow firewood from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and 11  14 17 counties of Indiana listed below.
Indiana Counties that have infected trees are: Adams, Allen, Dekalb, Elkhart, Hamilton, Huntington, Lagrange, Marion, Noble, Porter, Randolph, St Joseph, Stuben, Wabash, Wells, White, Whitley. (updated 4/08)
Any persons bringing in firewood from these areas will be turned away and your deposit will be forfeited.

This is by order of the USDA and IDNR.
Please Help Protect the Trees in our community !
Here are a couple slogans that are being used to get the message out....

"Pack the Hot Dogs... NOT the firewood !"
"Don't Move Firewood - It Bugs me"

ONLY YOU can eliminate the spread of disease by NOT moving firewood.
